Depending on what fruit is concerned, between 75% and 90% by weight is composed of liquid, making it an effective and healthy way of combating dehydration.
Moreover, with few exceptions, fruits provide a negligible amount of fat, but contain antioxidants, fiber and vitamins.
Antioxidants help regulate the functioning of our body, fighting the aging of tissues. On the other hand, fruits provide simple sugars needed, such as fructose, glucose and sucrose, which are rapidly absorbed, easily digested and are an important source of vitamins and minerals.
As for vitamins, the most common are the C and A or carotene, which strengthens the immune system by preventing certain diseases. While the most common minerals produced by the fruit are potassium, magnesium, iron and calcium, whose consumption is important always, but especially during the stages of growth.
Finally, one of the key values of the fruit is its high fiber content, nutritional value of which could also help prevent constipation. In addition to regular bowel movements, fiber hinders the absorption of cholesterol and a feeling of fullness.
